HealthGene understands the complexity of DNA based technology. Therefore
we not only offer our services, but also we have an educational
program for canine breeders. We present this program at numerous
breeder clubs in North America in order to explain the advantages
of DNA based technology for the testing of infectious diseases
and genetic disorders in dogs. In the last four years we have
visited many clubs and answered thousands of questions regarding
dog health problems, how these problems can be avoided, and
which tests should be used. Our laboratory director Dr. Melekhovets
usually makes presentations about this technology and how it
can be used on a daily basis in kennels. Also we work with breeders
on a confidential basis to solve any breeding problems they
may have. This is important not only for breeders but also for
us. During many discussions with breeders we have gained an
extensive understanding of which tests should be developed and
offered in order to improve the health of dogs.
For clubs that would like to schedule a presentation on using our
DNA based testing to solve problems in their kennels, simply
contact our laboratory. Appointments should be made well ahead
of time to avoid scheduling conflicts. Clubs can also order
informational material which can help breeders to better understand
our services and canine DNA testing. We have numerous newsletters
which explain the potential infectious disease problems and
their solutions. If breeders would like to ask more questions,
then they can contact us at 1-877-371-1551 or by e-mail at
info@healthgene.com.
Our technical staff will answer next business day.

Lost Pregnancy: Diagnosis And Prevention
Establishing and maintaining pregnancy
is dependent on many biological interactions between the embryo
or fetus and the pregnant female. For approximately 12 days after
fertilization, free-floating embryos are dependent on the fluid environment
within the uterus for development. If this environment
is inhospitable (due to inflammation, hormonal
imbalances, infection etc.), embryos may not survive.

Problems In Felines And Canines: A Two Year Analysis
Of DNA Testing
The field of diagnostic veterinary medicine has witnessed remarkable advancements in the last decade.
These advancements have been mediated by the introduction of the polymerase
chain reaction (PCR) to the field of molecular diagnostics. PCR is a method of detecting minute
quantities of DNA or RNA sequences specific to an organism by logarithmically replicating the
sequences, thus amplifying the organisms DNA signal and allowing for easy visual interpretation and
pathogenic detection in the laboratory.
