The Belgian Malinois is one of Belgiums for standard sheepdogs. A favorite among Belgian sheepherders, and named after the Belgian city of Malines,the Malinois was carefully bred to be recognized as dependable on the farm and field workers. They were introduced into the United States in the early 1900s, however were not really noticed until the1960s.
Today, the Belgian Malinois is celebrated for its herding, obedience, agility, work ethic and companionship.
Overall, the Belgian Malinois exudes strength without stockiness.
